My name is Angelika Pfirrmann. I have been working in international business development in the medical device and dental industry for many years. I am a qualified interpreter, Medical Device Consultant according to the MPG (German Medical Devices Act), specialist translator for medical devices, lecturer and medical writer.
From the field for the field
I have a background in Sales & Marketing / Business Development in the dental industry and understand the requirements to bring a dental product to market.
I have also worked with medical device manufacturers in the areas of point-of-care diagnostics, immunoassays, biomaterials, urology, plastic surgery, wound care, so I have an understanding of both dentistry and medical technology and medicine. As dentistry becomes more of a medical discipline and scientific knowledge about the relationship between the dental, oral and maxillofacial system (stomatognathic) system and the entire body grows, human medical issues are becoming more important in this field. I have a profound knowledge of dental products and dentistry and enjoy dealing with all dental topics.
Language skills and understanding of medical technology
As a graduate interpreter (Cologne University of Applied Sciences, Monterey Institute of International Studies, USA), I am linguistically trained and have extensive experience abroad. I am fluent in German (my native language), English, Spanish, and French and have passive knowledge of Italian.
I have completed further academic training in Medical Writing at the Apollon University for Health Care Management, which I have completed with the best grade 1,0. This course has familiarized me with the research, documentation, preparation and analysis of clinical studies. I also received further training at TÜV Süd for the clinical evaluation of medical devices for MDR approval.
I have a good understanding of medical and medical-technical contexts and can also explain complex issues to experts and laypersons in a way that is understandable to the target group.
